Numbers make it real. Not abstract millions. Jobs lost. Clients left without care. Case managers whose workload just doubled. Spell it out.

Name the funding cuts. Be transparent about what’s gone. Call out where the money was supposed to go. Make it real for your donors, your community, and the media.

Connect the dots. If your program disappears, what happens next? Will emergency rooms fill up? Will schools see an increase in homelessness? Will children go into foster care? Show them the ripple effect.

The Ask: Be Urgent, Be Clear

This is not a time for passive, “we’d appreciate your support” messaging. Tell people exactly what they need to do.

If you can’t raise $500,000 by June, your mental health program shuts down? Say that.
If you lose federal funding and need 300 new donors to step up this month? Say that.
